They are definitely part of a circular economy logic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In the factory, the proliferation of industrial robots, machine tools, and PLCs calls for an omni-platform industrial automation communication protocol and data exchange format that is independent of any brand or operating system.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Indeed, this type of protocol simplifies for <b>end users<\/b> the integration of equipment, the exploitation of data, in this case standardized and the maintenance of equipment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Adoption by <b>equipment suppliers, software publishers and integrators<\/b> of this type of protocol also makes it easier for the market to adopt their solution. It is becoming predominant as a support to the development of M-to-M communication protocols.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">New information models can be created on the basis of the OPC UA data model; the specifications of these information models that address a specific industrial issue are called Companion Specifications.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Thanks to these, all the equipment in a process can be understood, from sensors and controllers to intra-company or cloud-hosted applications.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Today, more than sixty CS have been developed in open-source; our goal within the club is
