These solutions rely on STEP translators that can manage input and output data from CAE analysis as well as process data and metadata to capture the context in which this data was created (fig 1.). The IG offers a unique opportunity to CAE vendors to use the tests rounds as a sandbox in which they can evaluate and check new modules in their translators within a fully confidential framework.<\/p><p>The CAE-IF is part of the global <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cax-if.eu\/\">MBx-IF<\/a><\/strong><\/span> initiative whose scope covers the overall Model Based interoperability. The CAE-IF produces technical documents such as \u201crecommended practices\u201d and \u201chandbooks\u201d to support the correct implementation of STEP AP209 in software tools. The final goal of the CAE-IF initiative is to increase user confidence when using ISO STEP AP209
